Tikir Robot Privacy Policy
This policy explains which personal data the Tikir Robot app and its school panel process and why, who can see it, how long it is kept and how you can exercise your rights. It says the same as the notice shown in the app when an account is created.
Last updated:
1Data controller
For accounts not linked to a school: Kamuran Toprak, who provides the Tikir Robot app (“we”). If your account was created through a school or institution, that institution is the data controller, and we process the data on its behalf and on its instructions.
2Data we process
- Account: email address, a one-way hash of the password, the invitation code used to create the account, and the version and time at which you accepted the privacy notice.
- Identifiers: random codes the app generates for the device and the child. They are not advertising identifiers and are not matched with other apps.
- Game answers: game and scene, the emotion asked about, the chosen card, whether the answer was correct, the response time and the time of the answer.
- Daily-life observations: the ready-made situation, question and result (+ / P / –) chosen by the parent; there is no free text. They are processed for the same purpose and under the same rules as game answers: the same people can see them, they are kept for the same period and deleted in the same way.
- School accounts: teacher details entered by the school's administrator in the school panel (name, email), a short name to tell the student apart (e.g. initials), teacher assignments, the consents parents give to teachers, and the dated assessment notes and skill scores teachers write.
- Data that stays on the device and is not sent to the server: the child's name entered in the app, the Parents' Corner PIN (only a hash) and the app settings.
The app has no ads, no advertising identifier, no location, contacts, photos or microphone access, and no third-party analytics or crash reporting tools. To prevent abuse, the server uses the connection's IP address for rate limiting.
3Purposes and legal basis
The data is processed so that you can sign in to the app, so that we can check whether your account is active, and so that your child's progress can be shown to you, to your school's administrators if it is a school account, and to the teachers you have given consent to. Account data is necessary to provide the service. Game answers and daily-life observations relate to your child's development and may be considered health data; they are processed only with your explicit consent (Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, KVKK).
4School and teachers
A teacher sees your child's progress only after you give consent. You can give consent in the app (Parents' Corner, Account) or in writing to the institution; in that case the institution records the consent on your behalf and notes how it was obtained. You can withdraw your consent in the app at any time. Teachers you have given consent to can write dated assessment notes and skill scores about your child, which you can see in the Parents' Corner. Assessments already written are not deleted when you withdraw consent; the teacher whose consent you withdrew can no longer see them.
5Who can see the data, and sharing
Your child's game answers and daily-life observations can be seen only by you, by your school's administrators if it is a school account, by teachers you have given consent to, and by us as the provider of the app. Data is not sold, is not used for advertising or tracking, and is not shared with other companies.
6Retention and deletion
Data is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored on the server; passwords and the PIN are kept only as one-way hashes. Data is kept for as long as your account is open.
You can delete your account in the app: Parents' Corner > Account > Delete my account. The account is closed immediately, you are signed out on all devices and teachers lose access. Your account and all of your child's records on the server are permanently deleted within 30 days. On iPhone, iPad and Android, data on the device is removed when the app is deleted.
Step-by-step instructions, and deletion by email if you can't use the app: Account deletion.
7Children's data
Accounts are created by a parent or the school, not by the child; the child is never asked for an email address, name or other contact details. Settings, progress and account actions are in the PIN-protected Parents' Corner.
8Your rights
To exercise your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK (to learn whether your data is processed, to request information, correction or deletion, to withdraw your explicit consent, and others), contact us at the address below or, for a school account, your school. Account deletion and withdrawing a teacher's consent can also be done in the app.
9Changes
If this policy changes, the app shows the new text and asks for your consent again.
